In 1999 I began a transition out of contemplative and liturgical dance , back to my roots in Jazz. My movement was catalyzed by the compositions and performance of Richard Shulman, in this video I am dancing to his “Fantasy and Ostinato” from “Solo Flight”. A gift of a cassette tape of his original Jazz compositions titled "A Simple Gift", inspired me to call my new Jazz band and dancers "A Perfect Gift: All That Is Jazz," remembering also the ethereal passage from the Epistle of James...

Our band and dancers perform original Jazz compositions and choreography....giving the gift of themselves fully to our audience.

The artist prefers to explore different weights, forms, and glazes, and she is not committed to a single philosophy. Therefore, you will find many colors and shapes on her table and in her studio. Most of Rachel’s pottery is also meant for day to day use. The process of firing at a higher temperature in the kiln makes the pottery less porous and more durable for cooking, baking, freezing, and for use in the garden.
